GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SCA
Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is a private, nondenominational Christian school in southeast Lee’s Summit, MO. As a Christian school, SCA requires that all employees be professing Christians who attend a Bible-believing church.
SCA has an early education through 12th grade program on a 36-acre campus that includes three facilities, as well as track, baseball, soccer, and football fields. Founded in 1989 with 32 elementary students, SCA has a current PS-12th grade enrollment of nearly 1,200. SCA offers a highly academic, college-preparatory program that includes 94 dual credit hours for high school students.
The elementary program includes the Foundations & Frameworks reading curriculum that greatly enhances reading comprehension through critical thinking skills, in addition to daily special classes.
SCA is dually accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and by Cognia.

2024-25 School Year
Upper Elementary Teacher(s) - Full-Time - SCA is currently accepting applications from candidates who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a desire to minister to students academically and spiritually. Prior elementary teaching experience required.
Elementary Music Teacher - Full-time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates to teach general music, vocal, and/or Instrumental music. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Music.
Elementary Resource Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates to teach resource math or reading. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education. Prior teaching experience in special education preferred.
Junior High Social Studies Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates to teach Junior High Social Studies classes. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Studies or Secondary Education. Ideal candidates would have middle school and social studies teaching experience.
Junior High Life Science Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications for a Life Science teacher. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in 7-12 science education or a degree with an emphasis in a science related area. Ideal candidates would have middle school and social studies teaching experience.
Secondary Bible Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates for a Secondary Bible position. Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. Prior teaching experience required.
Secondary Social Studies Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates to teach High School Social Studies classes, specifically Ancient World History. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Studies or Secondary Education. Ideal candidates would have social studies teaching experience.
Secondary Resource Teachers - Full-Time - SCA is accepting applications from candidates to teach resource math (comfortable teaching through Algebra II) and English classes. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a math/English related area. Prior teaching experience required.

Kitchen Assistant - Part-Time - SCA is accepting applicants interested in helping in the kitchen. Responsibilities include food preparation using proper safety standards, cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen/cafeteria and serving lines, serving meals to students, stocking shelves/refrigerators and freezers, must be able to lift 40lbs.
Custodial Workers – Part-Time - SCA is accepting applications for part-time custodial workers. Somewhat flexible hours (10-15 hours per week) that would include a tuition discount.

Coaching Positions
Summit Christian Academy has the following coaching positions available for the 2023-24 school year. Interested candidates should complete the employment application (link at the end of this page).
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of knowledge for the sport and must be able to effectively communicate that knowledge to student/athletes for their development. The ideal candidate would have playing and prior coaching experience, be motivated to work with a wide range of abilities, and coach with passion and compassion. Candidates should be dedicated to in-season and off-season player development.

Substitute Support Staff

Substitute Classroom Aide - SCA is accepting applications for classroom aide substitute to serve in early education and elementary. Substitute classroom aides will work directly with students to provide support for classroom teachers.
Substitute Office Assistant – SCA is accepting applications for office assistant substitutes to serve in the elementary and/or secondary office. Candidates must have prior administrative experience, excellent communication skills, experience in Microsoft programs, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Substitute Teachers – SCA is accepting applications for substitute teachers. Candidates must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours. Prior teaching and/or subbing experience is a plus.

Piano and Voice Teachers - Summit Christian Academy's private music lesson program is looking for teachers in the area of piano and voice. Hours are flexible and can be before, during, or after school hours as desired by the instructors.
